Oktoberfest Tent Information
Here are a few things everyone should know about Oktoberfest Tents and Reservations before heading to Munich:
  • Entrance to the Oktoberfest is FREE. Cash in Euros is needed for everything else.
  • A reservation is for a meal in a tent at a reserved table, NOT an all-you-can-drink pass. The meal typically includes 2 maß of beer and 1/2 a chicken, but varies by tent.
  • You may purchase additional food and beverages from your server at an additional charge. Remember to tip your server; they determine how fast your glass is refilled.
  • One Oktoberfest Tent Reservation is provided with a Spyglass accommodation package. This may be in a quaint smaller tent or a grandiose larger one; time and place cannot be guaranteed.
  • Be on time for your reservation. Your table will be given away if you're late.
  • Be aware of online sites that sell overpriced reservations or "tickets" to Oktoberfest without offering an accommodation package. This practice is illegal and you will have wasted a lot of money.
  • You may enter any Oktoberfest Tent you like without a reservation, as long as the tent is not full. Every tent has seating that is never reserved.
  • You have to be seated to be served. Find an empty spot at a table and ask if that place is taken. Order a beer and join the fun with your new friends.
  • Most tents have additional seating in an outdoor Beer Garden.
  • You will have a GREAT time in any tent; large or small, old or new.
